Biography:
Kelly
Lockhart
Dodson
is a
College
Board
authorized
teacher
of
Advanced
Placement
English
Language
and
Composition,
which
is
taught
on
the
junior
level
at
SHS.
A
West
Virginia
native,
Dodson
graduated
from
Herbert
Hoover
High
School
in
1985
and
immediately
moved
to
Murfreesboro,
Tennessee,
to
pursue
her
bachelor's
of
science
degree
in
mass
communication
at
Middle
Tennessee
State
University.
She
obtained
this
goal
in
1988.
While
working
as a
full-time
instructor
of
journalism
from
1992
to
1995
at
MTSU,
Dodson
earned
her
master's
degree
at
night
in
mass
communication,
and
later
obtained
her
post
baccalaureate
certification
in
secondary
English
from
Austin
Peay
State
University.
A
former
editor,
writer,
and
Newspaper
in
Education
coordinator,
Dodson
has
won
several
national,
regional,
and
state
awards
in
writing
and
promotions.
She
was
also
the
2006-2007
Cheatham
County
Teacher
of
the
Year
for
Sycamore
High
School.
In
her
spare
time,
Dodson
loves
to
grade
essays
and
to
try
to
figure
out
the
yearly
prompt
for
the
TCAP
Writing
Assessment,
teach
college,
and
play
with
her
children
and
her
crazy
Old
English
Sheepdog.
Dodson
is
grateful
she
is
able
to
use
her
skills
as a
hospital
and
community
service
volunteer
as
the
creator
and
sponsor
of
Helping
Eagles.
