Life Skills class consists of skills that are taught to the students about living on their own. The students bake and sell cookies as well as count the money they receive. The class also sells gourmet coffee and we do car detailing. Each activity we do helps the students have a feel for the type of job they can apply for after leaving high school. All the money goes back to the Life Skills class. The money the class raises is used for community outings, food for cooking, lessons and for our annual Thanksgiving dinner. We cook the dinner for their family, who they invite. My class gives so much to themselves to others they never complain and they always come to class with a smile. They are very hard workers and work well as a team. The goal that I have is to prepare my students for life after school. I want to prepare them for the job life, paying bills, cleaning their house, and activities they will partake in when they leave high school. The students are a joy and everyday is a wonderful, adventurous journey.
